LOUIS VUITTON SHOW WINTER/FALL 2013

Hello everyone! I'm so sorry it's been absolutely forever since I have posted anything! However, fashion week has been in full swing for awhile now. I want to talk about my disappointment in the Louis Vuitton show. (I watched online) Was anyone else as saddened as I was? The light, silk and lace lingerie type items were dull and unoriginal. The tweed jackets and boxy blazers were snore-worthy because everyone and their sister has seen that look before. There was no spark or individuality that I usually to see in the high-fashion runway shows.

I really don't understand how this made the cut...

Fur coat, how original...

However, although most of the items were not impressive, there were a few that I did love. The first is the dress Kate Moss wore. Transparent, flow-y and patterned all over with ash-y blue flowers that give the dress a fantastic texture. Not the most flattering piece, but the idea is a beautiful one. I love how the flowers are 3-D, popping off the dress. The sequined bottomed coats were a nice addition to the otherwise standard coats, somewhat transforming the look, but I'm afraid they could very easily become tacky and cheap looking depending on how they're worn. Lastly I do like the boxy blazers over the mini shorts, they are classy yet sexy in a simple and perfect way.

Lastly there is this little number that I can't say I love, but am certainly intrigued by. A peacock must've been the inspiration here with the deep turquoise and feathery detail in all shades of blue-green. I like the idea of a total backless shirt and I think this is very creative. However, I don't like how long it is. Maybe a shorter version, with less frills would be more wearable? I think it would an interesting piece for summer.

It was mostly disappointing because I so loved their checkered 60's look for the spring/summer 2013 show!
So there are my opinions on the show, what do you guys think? I am so interested in other people's opinions and would love to hear agreements, or disagreements and why! Comment below!

Happy Day

The Importance of a Good Day
I have been having a very stressful few weeks and have not been very happy. Yesterday was one of the best days I've had in a really long time. I began the day walking my friend's new dog with her in the morning and devoured some of the best french fries I've ever had. Then my other friend  and I drove the long way to Old Town Alexandria. Old Town Alexandria is a lovely place to visit with the cozy street life of King St. where most of the shops and restaurants are, and then the sweet old fashioned homes in the residential area. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time just walking around without a worry in the world. After we returned home we watch Pitch Perfect (Hilarious! It's a Must SEE) and was inspired by all the singing we turned the radio up to highest volume and had a full blown dance party. The moral of this is, take the time to plan out a day every once in a while where the only point is to make you happy. It will benefit you so much in the end.

Resolution

Happy 2013!
I know I'm a little late with resolutions but I'm going to do it anyway :)
A couple of weeks ago I was looking at this book of pictures of Paris called Paris in Color by Nichole Robertson. (The pictures are beautiful, definitely recommend it) I found this quote and it really spoke to me which, being me, meant I quickly wrote it on a sticky note and stuck it on my lamp where it has stayed since.
Flânerie is a french word and it goes along with the phrase "Stop and smell the flowers." I am generally a busy person and I don't take time to notice small things that I see or interact with during the day. I focus only on where I have to be and what I have to do next. My resolution is to start taking time to just stop and admire, and really see the world around me that I usually pass by without a glance.
What are your resolutions?

Hair Product Review: Oils

First product review! These two bottle are hair products, supposed to add shine to your hair, as well as make it softer. I'm sure many of you have heard of the Moroccan Oil Treatment, and if you haven't I HIGHLY recommend it. After I take a shower I put some on my hand (the size of penny) and pull it through the strands of hair. It helps protect hair against heated tools and definitely makes it softer and shinier. If you can afford it, Morroccan Oil is the way to go. (You can buy it on amazon.com or in beauty stores, usually about $40 for 3.4 oz.)
I recently found this Pequi Oil and I actually love it. I put it on in place of the Moroccan Oil and it made my hair very silky and shiny. This is about $30 for 2oz and this one can be found at Sephora whereas I haven't found the Moroccan Oil at Sephora yet.
These are both great products and I recommend both of them! Try them both out or pick one, either way, comment below on which one you prefer!

The After Christmas Wish

If I could have put one more thing on my wish list it would have been the Kate Spade book; Kate Spade New York Things We Love.

"within the four walls of kate spade new york, personal style is applauded and cultural curiosity is encouraged. long before the days of pinboards and social sharing, the brand’s in-house creative team began amassing a collection of things we love on their website: a crayon ring, a cocktail doodle, a particularly dreamy photograph"

If I do read this book I will certainly do a review on it!

K'sFashion Obsessions2: Kate Spade's Comical Relief

Who else is absolutely in love with Kate Spade's new retro comic book collection?! I love the bright flashes of color, the unique vintage-y feel, and the fact that everything is such a statement piece! My absolute favorite are the little gold, phone earrings. How adorable!

Room decor Idea

Twinkle/Christmas lights in a bottle? I loooove twinkle lights and I love bottles for room decoration but together? I'm not sure yet, I'm going to sleep on it.

Audrey Hepburn Photoshoot

Audrey Hepburn is such a style icon, along with everything else. She was classy and sophisticated and I definitely look up to her. This is a photo shoot my friend and I did of me dressed up as the stunning Audrey Hepburn.

K'sFashion Obsessions

I LOVE some of Louis Vuitton's past ads, and the different forms of their generic bag. These are a few of my absolute favorite. The pretty pastels of Spring 2012 and the sparkly drama of Autumn 2012 are so unique and intriguing. Enjoy.

First Shirt Ever Made !

Yesterday was major for the Kendra's Closet company, I made the first prototype! Of course it will be tweaked and changed a lot by the end but it's a start.

This is my business partner Fiona posing in the shirt.
